Something that never fails to intrigue us is the happenings of the future. We are more willing and curious to live and find out more about the future rather than the present. What’s more, we are told to think about our own future, not of the world as one.

We have innumerable questions about the future but no one to answer them. Since before 2012, people have been worried about the world reaching its end. This presumption about the abomination in 2012 rooted from some rumors and false predictions. Why did we believe all of that? We believed it because we felt like we had been given an answer to our questions about the future.

Talking on a more personal level, we worry about our studies, our degree, our job, then job security, then family and then family security. We consume our minds with queries about the future even though we know that they can’t be answered. Only time can provide us with answers. The one thing we can do is invest into the future. We can only hope for a good pay-out if we’re willing to invest big. Investment into the future is also done psychologically.

It is a proven fact that what we think, is more likely to happen!

Don’t plague your mind with questions like, what if the world ends, how am I going to look when I’m older, what kind of relationship will I want when I come of age and what will I do if I don’t get a good enough job? Slowly, gradually, detach these thoughts from your mind. And instead, think about what you want to achieve, where you want to get. Picture yourself living your ideal life in your future. It is more likely that you will get what you want.

One thing that I’ve noticed about people is that they get nervous while talking about their future. In fact, I had a friend who would get a panic attack every time someone mentioned to her the subject of her career. This happens when you overthink. Overthinking about the future is all for naught.

There isn’t a thing you can do to change what’s meant to be. All you can hope is that your investments, both working and psychological, into the future, pay off. Expecting a lot and having high hopes for the future is inevitable for humankind. But not all of us want to work for the same. If you’re willing to put in the effort, to give whatever it takes to be where you want to be in the future, then there’s nothing you need to worry about. Why? Because you know that you will give in your all, no matter what life throws your way, no matter what path you’re forced to take.

Having negative thoughts can be helpful as well, no doubt

Although, many might disagree. Thinking in a negative or pessimistic way about the future can help people create an image of what they really want in life. Moreover, questioning everything is very important. Questioning what you want from the future is important because if you don’t have a reason for what you’re doing, then it could possibly be meaningless.

The negative thoughts that you get inside your mind will propel you to find the answers by yourself, within yourself. Thinking and questioning and then counter questioning your own beliefs and thoughts will help you ameliorate them. It can also help you get to know yourself, your beliefs, and aspirations better. Thinking about your future will help you prioritize yourself and your ambitions. This will thus assist your drive to find the kind of future you imagine yourself living.

One thing you shouldn’t ever do is give up on yourself. Giving up on yourself and your future simply means that you are too much of a chicken to untangle yourselves from the mess that you have created inside your head. No one else is going to untangle that mess for you. You’re going to have to stand up for yourself, with yourself and work on your future. You weren’t blessed with the gift of life just to drown yourself in anxiety. You were born to help and inspire yourself and those around you to create a better futuristic plan.
